No single-use plastic, two full sets per household, and a return system that asks nothing of you. How the container kit works and why we chose it.
The easiest thing to do in this business is put food in plastic. It's light, it's cheap, and nobody has to come back for it. We decided early that it wasn't what we wanted to hand someone three days a week.
What the kit is
Every client gets a one-time container kit: premium ceramic and glass containers with insulated bags, in two full sets. One set is in your fridge while the other is with us being cleaned and refilled. The kit is yours to keep. Kits run from $600 to $1,900 depending on the plan, because a Summit household needs a lot more pieces than someone on Root.
- Essentials kit, $600: Root, Foundation and Cultivate.
- Performance kit, $1,250: Forge, Summit and Harvest.
- Family kit, $1,100 for Three Day, $1,900 for Five Day and Six Day.
Why ceramic and glass
Food tastes like what it sits in. Ceramic and glass don't hold onto yesterday's braise, they reheat evenly, and they go straight to the table without the meal looking like it came from a delivery app. They're also the reason we can promise no single-use plastic in any of our deliveries.
The part you don't do
On delivery day, leave your used containers out. We pick them up when we drop off the next set. No washing, no sorting, no counting. If something breaks or goes missing, we replace it at cost.
What it adds up to
Over a year on a Five Day plan, that's a few hundred meals with nothing thrown away at the end of them. Better for your food, and better for everything downstream of it.
Questions about this
Is the container kit refundable?
No. The kit is yours to keep. If you cancel, it stays with you.
What happens if a container breaks?
Broken or lost containers are replaced at cost.
Can I use my own containers instead?
The kit is part of every plan so the two-set rotation works. If your household has a special need, raise it in the first conversation and we'll look at it.
